K9 W2-P Double Dog Box for Pickup Trucks

The K9 W2-P Double Dog Box is a high-quality, bespoke two-compartment dog box designed to fit over both rear wheel arches of a pickup truck with a canopy fitted.

Every K9 W2-P is made to order to suit the individual customer’s vehicle, canopy and requirements. We do not manufacture standard stock boxes. Each dog box is built specifically for the pickup it will be fitted to, helping you make the best possible use of the available load-bed space.

Unlike the K9 W1-P, which is designed to fit partly over one wheel arch, the K9 W2-P spans across the full width of the pickup load bed and over both wheel arches, with the overall width manufactured to suit the tailgate opening.

The K9 W2-P can be manufactured up to approximately 1345mm wide as standard, depending on the vehicle and canopy installation.

Designed for customers who need to transport many dogs, and who want the flexibility of separate compartments within one full-width dog box, the K9 W2-P is supplied as standard with two individual lockable doors and a removable centre divider.

This allows the box to be used as two separate dog compartments or, when required, as one larger open compartment by removing the divider.

Bespoke Full-Width Fit Over Both Wheel Arches

The K9 W2-P can be manufactured to suit UK pickup truck models and a wide range of canopy designs.

The lower section of the box is specifically shaped to accommodate both rear wheel arches, allowing the dog box to extend across the width of the pickup bed while making use of the otherwise restricted space above the wheel arches.

The overall width is manufactured to suit the available tailgate and canopy opening, up to approximately 1345mm wide as standard.

The depth can be manufactured to your requirements, up to approximately 1,220mm as standard, while the overall height is determined by the available canopy opening.

Because every pickup and canopy installation can be different, we will work from the dimensions of your vehicle to produce a dog box suited to the available space.

Two Compartments with Removable Divider

The K9 W2-P is supplied as standard with a removable centre divider, providing greater flexibility in how the box can be used.

With the divider fitted, the K9 W2-P provides two separate dog compartments, each with its own individual door.

The divider can also be removed to create one larger full-width compartment, making the box suitable for larger dogs or situations where a divided layout is not required.

This flexibility makes the K9 W2-P particularly useful for customers whose requirements may change depending on the dogs being transported.

Two Individual Lockable Doors

The K9 W2-P is fitted with two individual aluminium doors, allowing independent access to each side of the dog box.

Each door incorporates a stainless-steel mesh insert together with our double-point locking system. When the handle is turned, two locking points engage at the top and bottom of the door for increased strength and security.

Each door is fitted with a key-locking handle, allowing the compartments to be securely locked when required.

Each door is also fitted with a full-length stainless-steel hinge and our integrated stainless-steel mesh construction, creating a strong and durable door designed for regular working and everyday use.

Integrated Stainless-Steel Door Mesh

A major strength of the K9 W2-P dog box is the way the stainless-steel door mesh is built into the door frame during manufacture.

Rather than simply being tack welded onto the outside of the finished door, the stainless-steel mesh is inserted into the aluminium door section during the welding stage, so the surrounding door construction locks the mesh securely into position.

This creates an extremely strong door assembly and prevents dogs inside the box from getting behind an exposed mesh edge and attempting to pull or peel the mesh away from the frame.

The result is a much more secure and durable construction than a surface-mounted mesh panel, making it particularly suitable for strong, active working dogs and regular professional use.

This integrated mesh construction is a key feature of our dog box doors and is used to provide additional strength, security and long-term durability.

Stainless-steel mesh integrated into the dog box door section during manufacture, locking the mesh securely into the frame rather than simply attaching it to the outer face.

Ventilation and Comfort

Ventilation is incorporated into the side and rear of the dog box as standard using stainless-steel mesh ventilation apertures.

These ventilation areas help provide airflow through both compartments while maintaining a strong and durable construction.

A 3mm internal rubber mat is also supplied as standard to provide a practical, comfortable and easy-to-clean floor surface.

Additional ventilation options may also be available depending on the size and design of the box required.

Optional Lockable Side Escape Hatches

For pickups fitted with a canopy featuring side gull-wing windows, the K9 W2-P double dog box can also be manufactured with optional lockable side escape hatches.

An escape hatch can be fitted to one side or both sides of the dog box, depending on the canopy design and your preferred access arrangement.

Each escape hatch replaces the standard side ventilation mesh panel and provides an additional access point to the relevant dog compartment through the side of the canopy.

For additional security, each escape hatch is fitted with two separate key-operated locks, helping keep the compartment securely closed when the vehicle is unattended.

A stainless-steel mesh ventilation insert is incorporated into each escape hatch, maintaining airflow through the dog compartment while still providing the additional access point.

This option can be particularly useful for working dogs and professional handlers who want secondary access to one or both dog compartments, while retaining secure ventilation and a fully lockable installation.

The side escape hatch option is only suitable for pickups fitted with a canopy that has side gull-wing opening windows and must be specified when ordering.

Durable Polypropylene Construction

The K9 W2-P is manufactured from durable polypropylene with a leather-grain-effect finish.

This material provides a strong, practical and low-maintenance construction suitable for regular use in pickup trucks and working vehicles. It is also rot and rust proof, making it particularly suited to demanding outdoor and working environments.

The lower section of the box is designed to be sealed to help contain water during cleaning, and a drainage plug is fitted to make washing out and maintaining the compartments easier.

Securing shackles are fitted to allow the box to be restrained using suitable vehicle fixing points.

Slotted side handles are also incorporated into the design to assist when handling or removing the box from the vehicle.

The final dimensions of the box can be manufactured to suit the available space in your pickup truck and canopy.

The depth and width do not have to be the maximum size. We can manufacture the box to the depth you require, allowing the design to be tailored around your dogs, your equipment and the layout of your pickup.

The maximum standard width is approximately 1345mm, but the actual width will normally be determined by the available tailgate and canopy opening of the vehicle.

Made to Order for Your Pickup

The K9 W2-P is not an off-the-shelf dog box. Every box is manufactured to the individual customer’s specification, allowing us to take account of the pickup model, canopy design, wheel-arch dimensions, available tailgate opening, required depth and any additional features you may require.

By fitting over both rear wheel arches and extending across the available width of the pickup bed, the K9 W2-P makes efficient use of the available space while providing a practical and secure solution for transporting multiple dogs.

The standard removable divider and two-door configuration gives you the flexibility to use the box as either two separate compartments or one larger compartment.
