K9 1-P Single Dog Box for Pickup Trucks

The K9 1-P Single Dog Box is a high-quality, bespoke single-compartment dog box designed to fit on top of an existing drawer unit or platform in a pickup truck with a canopy fitted.

Every K9 1-P is made to order to suit the individual customer’s vehicle, canopy, platform or drawer system and requirements. We do not manufacture standard stock boxes. Each dog box is built specifically for the pickup it will be fitted to, helping you make the best possible use of the available load-bed space.

Designed for dog owners who need a secure, practical and durable transport solution, the K9 1-P provides one spacious dog compartment with a single lockable door, while allowing the remaining side of the pickup bed to stay available for storage or other equipment.

Bespoke Fit for Pickup Trucks, Drawer Systems and Canopies

The K9 1-P is designed to sit to one side of the pickup load area, on top of an existing drawer unit, raised platform or similar installation.

The box can be manufactured for installation on either the left-hand or right-hand side of the vehicle, depending on your preferred layout.

The maximum standard width is approximately 660mm, and the outer side of the box can be shaped to suit the profile of the canopy, helping maximise the available internal space while maintaining a neat fit inside the vehicle.

The standard depth is 1020mm. Longer boxes can also be manufactured as a bespoke option, subject to the available space in the vehicle and canopy.

The overall height is manufactured to suit the available canopy opening height, allowing the box to make effective use of the space while still being practical to install and remove.

Because every pickup, canopy and drawer installation can be different, we will work from the dimensions of your vehicle to manufacture a dog box suited to your available space.

Safe and Secure Single-Compartment Design

The K9 1-P incorporates one generously sized dog compartment with a single aluminium access door.

The door is manufactured with a stainless-steel mesh insert and fitted with our double-point locking system. When the handle is turned, two locking pins engage at the top and bottom of the door for increased strength and security.

A key-locking handle provides additional security, while a full-length stainless-steel hinge offers excellent durability for regular working use.

Integrated Stainless-Steel Door Mesh

A major strength of the K9 1-P dog box is the way the stainless-steel door mesh is built into the door frame during manufacture.

Rather than simply being tack welded onto the outside of the finished door, the stainless-steel mesh is inserted into the aluminium door section during the welding stage, so the surrounding door construction locks the mesh securely into position.

This creates an extremely strong door assembly and prevents dogs inside the box from getting behind an exposed mesh edge and attempting to pull or peel the mesh away from the frame.

The result is a much more secure and durable construction than a surface-mounted mesh panel, making it particularly suitable for strong, active working dogs and regular professional use.

This integrated mesh construction is a key feature of our dog box doors and is used to provide additional strength, security and long-term durability.

Stainless-steel mesh integrated into the dog box door section during manufacture, locking the mesh securely into the frame rather than simply attaching it to the outer face.

Ventilation and Comfort

Ventilation is incorporated into the side and rear of the dog box as standard, using stainless-steel mesh ventilation apertures.

Standard ventilation slots are approximately 150mm high, helping provide good airflow throughout the compartment.

A 3mm internal rubber mat is also supplied as standard to provide a practical, comfortable and easy-to-clean floor surface.

For customers requiring additional ventilation, an internal fan system or two-way electric roof fan can be added as an optional extra.

Optional Lockable Side Escape Hatches

For pickups fitted with a canopy featuring side gull-wing windows, the Field 12-P dog box can also be manufactured with an optional lockable side escape hatch.

The escape hatch replaces the standard side ventilation mesh panel and provides an additional access point to the dog compartment through the side of the canopy.

For additional security, each escape hatch is fitted with two separate key-operated locks, helping keep the compartment securely closed when the vehicle is unattended.

A stainless-steel mesh ventilation insert is incorporated into the escape hatch, maintaining airflow through the dog compartment while providing the additional access point.

This option can be particularly useful for working dogs and handlers who want secondary access to the dog compartment, while retaining secure ventilation and a fully lockable installation.

The side escape hatch option is only suitable for pickups fitted with a canopy that has side gull-wing opening windows and must be specified when ordering.

Durable 6mm Polypropylene Construction

The K9 1-P is manufactured from 6mm polypropylene with a leather-grain-effect finish.

This material provides a strong, practical and low-maintenance construction suitable for regular use in pickup trucks and working vehicles.

The lower section of the box is designed to be watertight up to the top of the door sill, helping contain water during cleaning. A drainage plug is fitted to make washing out and maintaining the box easier.

Securing shackles are fitted to the dog box, allowing the unit to be restrained using suitable vehicle fixing points.

The K9 1-P Single Dog Box is £760 including VAT and fitting.

The standard box is manufactured to a depth of 1020mm. Longer boxes and other non-standard requirements can be manufactured as bespoke options and quoted individually.

The K9 1-P is not an off-the-shelf dog box. Every box is manufactured to the individual customer’s specification, allowing us to take account of the pickup model, canopy design, existing drawer or platform installation, available opening height and any optional equipment you would like incorporated.

Whether you require the box positioned on the left or right side of the vehicle, shaped around the canopy profile or manufactured longer than the standard 1020mm depth, we can discuss the best configuration for your pickup.
