K9 4-V Four Dog Box for Vans
The K9 4-V Four Dog Box is a high-quality four-compartment dog box designed for larger vans, providing a secure, practical and space-efficient solution for transporting up to four dogs.
The K9 4-V uses a 2+2 configuration, with two dog compartments positioned above two lower compartments. This stacked arrangement makes efficient use of the height available within larger vans while keeping the overall footprint compact.
Designed for vehicles such as the Ford Transit Custom, the K9 4-V is suitable for vans with approximately 1350mm of width between the wheel arches and has a standard depth of 1120mm.
The system is manufactured from two double dog boxes, each fitted with a removable centre divider. This gives you the flexibility to use the K9 4-V as four individual dog compartments or two larger compartments when required.
Designed for Larger Vans
The K9 4-V has been developed specifically for larger vans such as the Ford Transit Custom, where the additional internal width and height can be used to create a practical four-dog transport system.
The unit is designed around a width of approximately 1350mm between the wheel arches, with a standard overall depth of 1120mm.
The combined height of the upper and lower boxes can be manufactured to make effective use of the available space, with the overall height extending up to the height of the vehicle’s rear door opening where suitable.
As van dimensions, rear door openings and internal layouts can vary, we recommend providing your vehicle make, model and year when ordering so that we can confirm the most suitable configuration.
Practical 2+2 Stacked Design
The K9 4-V consists of two double dog boxes arranged one above the other, creating two upper compartments and two lower compartments.
This 2+2 layout provides secure individual spaces for up to four dogs without requiring the full length of the van to be occupied by dog boxes.
Each double box incorporates a removable centre divider, allowing the K9 4-V to be configured as:
- Four individual dog compartments
- Two larger double-width compartments
This flexibility makes the K9 4-V suitable for users transporting dogs of different sizes or for situations where a larger compartment may occasionally be required.
Set-Back Upper Dog Boxes
For easier access to the upper compartments, the top dog boxes can be set back from the front of the lower boxes.
This creates a useful step area on top of the lower section, helping dogs climb into the upper compartments more easily and reducing the height they need to negotiate in a single movement.
The amount of set-back can be determined as part of the configuration of the dog box, taking into account the available space within the vehicle.
Optional Built-In Pull-Out Jump Board
For additional assistance when loading dogs into the upper compartments, the K9 4-V can also be supplied with an optional built-in pull-out jump board.
The jump board is incorporated into the dog box installation and can be pulled out when required to provide an additional platform for dogs entering or leaving the upper boxes.
When not required, it can be stored neatly within the unit, helping maintain a practical and uncluttered load area.
The pull-out jump board is available as an optional extra.
Safe, Secure Four-Compartment Design
The K9 4-V provides four separate dog compartments when both removable centre dividers are fitted, allowing dogs to travel individually and securely.
Each compartment has its own locking front door with our double-point locking system. When the handle is operated, two locking pins engage at the top and bottom of the door, providing a strong and secure closure.
Rear escape hatches are fitted as standard, providing an additional access point to the dog compartments from the rear of the boxes.
For customers who do not require rear access, the K9 4-V can also be manufactured without escape hatches.
Each door is also fitted with a full-length stainless-steel hinge and our integrated stainless-steel mesh construction, creating a strong and durable door designed for regular working and everyday use.

Integrated Stainless-Steel Door Mesh
A major strength of the K9 4-V dog box is the way the stainless-steel door mesh is built into the door frame during manufacture.
Rather than simply being tack welded onto the outside of the finished door, the stainless-steel mesh is inserted into the aluminium door section during the welding stage, so the surrounding door construction locks the mesh securely into position.
This creates an extremely strong door assembly and prevents dogs inside the box from getting behind an exposed mesh edge and attempting to pull or peel the mesh away from the frame.
The result is a much more secure and durable construction than a surface-mounted mesh panel, making it particularly suitable for strong, active working dogs and regular professional use.
This integrated mesh construction is a key feature of our dog box doors and is used to provide additional strength, security and long-term durability.

Stainless-steel mesh integrated into the dog box door section during manufacture, locking the mesh securely into the frame rather than simply attaching it to the outer face.
Ventilation and Comfort
Ventilation is incorporated into the dog boxes to help maintain airflow through each compartment while travelling.
Standard ventilation apertures are approximately 150mm high.
A 3mm internal rubber mat is also supplied as standard, providing a practical, comfortable and easy-to-clean floor surface for the dogs.
Durable 6mm Polypropylene Construction
The K9 4-V is manufactured from 6mm polypropylene with a leather-grain-effect finish.
This provides a strong, lightweight and low-maintenance construction suitable for regular use in working and everyday vehicles.
The boxes incorporate reinforced structural sections to provide additional strength and rigidity.
The lower sections are designed to be watertight up to the top of the door sill, helping contain water while the interior is being washed out. Drainage plugs are fitted to assist with cleaning and maintenance.
Integrated slot handles assist with handling individual box sections during installation or removal where required.
Securing shackles are also incorporated to allow the dog box system to be restrained using suitable fixing points within the vehicle.
