K9 2-C Double Dog Box for Cars, Estates, SUVs and 4x4s

The K9 2-C Double Dog Box is a high-quality, bespoke two-compartment dog box designed to fit within the boot area of normal road vehicles, including hatchbacks, estate cars, SUVs and 4x4s.

Every K9 2-C is made to order to suit the individual customer’s vehicle and requirements. We do not manufacture standard stock boxes. Each dog box is built specifically for the make and model of vehicle it will be fitted to, helping make the best possible use of the available boot space.

Designed for dog owners who need to transport one or two dogs safely and securely, the K9 2-C provides two dog compartments with two separate lockable doors and a removable central divider. Removing the divider allows the two compartments to be opened up into one larger internal area when required.

Unlike the K9 1-C, the K9 2-C is shaped on both sides of the box to follow the contours of the vehicle, helping utilise as much of the available boot space as possible.

Bespoke Fit for Cars, Estates, SUVs and 4x4s

The K9 2-C is designed specifically for use in the boot area of hatchbacks, estate cars, SUVs and 4×4 vehicles.

The K9 2-C is available in two standard sizes:

• Small: up to 965mm wide x 910mm deep x 735mm high
• Large: up to 1020mm wide x 1020mm deep x 765mm high

The dimensions are adjusted where required to suit the individual vehicle, helping maximise the available internal space while maintaining a neat and practical fit within the boot.

Because the shape of boot areas varies considerably between different makes and models, every K9 2-C is manufactured to suit the individual vehicle.

Both sides of the dog box are shaped to follow the contours of the vehicle’s boot space, allowing the box to make efficient use of the available width around wheel arches, side panels and other interior features.

The rear of the box can also be angled to suit the position and angle of the rear seats, while the front of the box is shaped to suit the angle and closing position of the boot door or tailgate.

This bespoke construction helps make efficient use of the available space and allows the dog box to fit neatly within the vehicle.

Two-Door, Two-Compartment Design

The K9 2-C incorporates two separate dog compartments, each with its own aluminium access door.

A removable central divider separates the two compartments, allowing two dogs to be transported individually when required.

When the divider is removed, the internal area can be opened up to provide one larger compartment, making the K9 2-C a flexible option for customers who may need to transport dogs of different sizes or vary the internal configuration depending on their requirements.

The two-door layout also allows each side of the box to be accessed independently, making loading and unloading straightforward.

Safe and Secure Door Design

Both aluminium access doors are manufactured to the same high standard as the other doors used throughout our range, incorporating stainless-steel mesh inserts and our double-point locking system.

When each handle is turned, two locking pins engage at the top and bottom of the door, providing increased strength and security.

Each door is fitted with a key-locking handle for additional security.

The separate doors allow each dog compartment to be opened independently while maintaining a strong and practical construction suitable for everyday travel and working use.

Each door is also fitted with a full-length stainless-steel hinge and our integrated stainless-steel mesh construction, creating a strong and durable door designed for regular working and everyday use.

Integrated Stainless-Steel Door Mesh

A major strength of the K9 2-C dog box is the way the stainless-steel door mesh is built into the door frame during manufacture.

Rather than simply being tack welded onto the outside of the finished door, the stainless-steel mesh is inserted into the aluminium door section during the welding stage, so the surrounding door construction locks the mesh securely into position.

This creates an extremely strong door assembly and prevents dogs inside the box from getting behind an exposed mesh edge and attempting to pull or peel the mesh away from the frame.

The result is a much more secure and durable construction than a surface-mounted mesh panel, making it particularly suitable for strong, active working dogs and regular professional use.

This integrated mesh construction is a key feature of our dog box doors and is used to provide additional strength, security and long-term durability.

Stainless-steel mesh integrated into the dog box door section during manufacture, locking the mesh securely into the frame rather than simply attaching it to the outer face.

Ventilation and Comfort

Ventilation is incorporated into the K9 2-C through side and rear ventilation apertures, helping provide good airflow throughout both dog compartments.

The ventilation is positioned to suit the design of the box and the individual vehicle installation.

A 3mm internal rubber mat is supplied as standard, providing a practical, comfortable and easy-to-clean floor surface for the dogs.

For customers requiring additional ventilation, other ventilation options can also be discussed as part of the bespoke design.

Durable Polypropylene Construction

The K9 2-C is manufactured using the same durable polypropylene construction used throughout our dog box range.

The material provides a strong, practical and low-maintenance solution suitable for regular use in family vehicles, working vehicles and 4x4s.

A drainage plug is fitted as standard to assist with cleaning and washing out the inside of the dog box.

The K9 2-C also incorporates side slot handles, making the box easier to lift, load and unload from the vehicle when required.

The K9 2-C is not an off-the-shelf dog box. Every box is manufactured to suit the individual customer’s vehicle, allowing us to take account of the boot dimensions, rear seat angle, wheel arches and side profiles, boot door or tailgate angle and the available loading space.

Both sides of the K9 2-C are shaped to follow the contours of the boot, helping maximise the internal space available for the dogs while keeping the overall box neatly fitted within the vehicle.

The rear of the box can be angled to suit the rear seats, while the front can be shaped to provide suitable clearance for the boot door or tailgate.

The removable central divider gives additional flexibility, allowing the K9 2-C to be used as two individual dog compartments or as one larger compartment when required.

This bespoke approach allows us to make the best possible use of the available space while providing a secure, practical and professional dog transport solution.
