Full product description Specification, layout & fitting information

CAB Heavy-Duty Dog Cabin – Indoor & Outdoor Polypropylene Dog Kennel

The CAB Heavy-Duty Dog Cabin is a strong, practical and easy-to-clean dog kennel designed to provide sheltered sleeping accommodation for working dogs, kennel dogs and household pets.

Manufactured from 6mm thick polypropylene plastic with fully welded internal joints, the CAB Dog Cabin combines a durable, rot-proof construction with practical features designed to provide protection from the elements, reduce draughts and make regular cleaning straightforward.

Unlike traditional wooden dog kennels, polypropylene is non-porous and does not absorb moisture, making it particularly suitable for environments where durability, cleanliness and regular maintenance are important.

The CAB Dog Cabin is available in two standard roof designs: a Flat Roof Dog Cabin, particularly suitable for indoor kennel accommodation, and a Sloping Roof Dog Cabin, designed for outdoor use with a roof that falls towards the rear to help direct rainwater away from the entrance.

Each cabin incorporates protective aluminium capping around the door entrances, an internal draught screen to provide additional shelter and a stainless-steel louvred ventilation grille within the sleeping compartment.

The roof is secured using two over-centre fasteners and can be easily removed to provide access for cleaning and maintenance.

Both standard roof designs are available at the same price, with bespoke CAB Dog Cabins also manufactured to suit individual dogs, kennel layouts and specific accommodation requirements.

Flat Roof & Sloping Roof Dog Cabin Designs

The CAB Dog Cabin is available in two standard designs, allowing customers to select the most suitable roof arrangement according to where the cabin will be installed.

Flat Roof Dog Cabin – Suitable for Indoor Use

The Flat Roof Dog Cabin features a level roof and is particularly suitable for installation within existing kennel buildings, covered dog accommodation and other protected indoor environments.

The flat roof design provides a practical enclosed sleeping area while retaining the same heavy-duty polypropylene construction, draught screen, ventilation and removable roof features found across the CAB Dog Cabin range.

This version is particularly useful for customers fitting out working dog kennels or providing individual sleeping cabins within an existing kennel building.

Sloping Roof Dog Cabin – Designed for Outdoor Use

The Sloping Roof Dog Cabin incorporates a roof that slopes from front to rear, helping direct rainwater away from the entrance.

This design is particularly suitable for outdoor kennel accommodation where the cabin may be exposed to rain and changing weather conditions.

The front of the cabin is higher than the rear, creating the roof fall while retaining the same practical internal sleeping arrangement.

Both roof designs use the same robust polypropylene construction and incorporate the protective aluminium edging, internal draught screen, ventilation grille and removable roof.

The Flat Roof and Sloping Roof CAB Dog Cabins are supplied at the same price.

Heavy-Duty Fully Welded Polypropylene Construction

Each CAB Dog Cabin is manufactured from 6mm thick polypropylene plastic, providing a strong and durable enclosure suitable for regular kennel and everyday use.

The internal joints are fully welded, creating a robust construction designed to be easy to clean and maintain.

Polypropylene offers several practical advantages over traditional wooden dog kennels.

It is non-porous, moisture-resistant and rot-proof, meaning the material itself does not absorb water or deteriorate through rot when exposed to damp conditions.

Unlike timber, which can absorb moisture and may require regular treatment or maintenance, polypropylene provides a practical alternative for customers who require long-lasting dog accommodation.

The fully welded internal construction also avoids traditional wooden joints that may deteriorate over time through repeated exposure to moisture.

The result is a strong, practical dog cabin designed for working dogs, kennel accommodation and everyday use.

Protective Aluminium-Capped Edges

All exposed edges of the CAB Dog Cabin entrances, are finished with protective aluminium capping.

The aluminium edging helps protect the polypropylene panels from dogs attempting to chew or damage the exposed edges.

This is particularly beneficial in working dog kennels and environments where strong or active dogs may be more inclined to chew kennel fittings.

Although no dog kennel can be guaranteed completely chew-proof, the aluminium-capped construction is designed to offer additional protection compared with exposed plastic or traditional wooden edges.

Internal Draught Screen for Additional Shelter

A key feature of the CAB Dog Cabin is its internal draught screen, designed to provide additional protection within the sleeping area.

Rather than allowing air to pass directly from the entrance into the main sleeping compartment, the internal screen helps reduce direct draughts and provides a more sheltered resting space.

This can be particularly beneficial for dogs accommodated in kennel buildings, outdoor runs and other environments where cold air or changing weather conditions may affect the entrance area.

The internal draught screen provides an additional level of shelter while retaining access between the cabin entrance and sleeping compartment.

Combined with the enclosed polypropylene construction, this helps create a practical sleeping environment for working dogs and kennel dogs.

Stainless-Steel Louvre Ventilation

The CAB Dog Cabin is fitted with a stainless-steel louvred ventilation grille within the sleeping area.

The vent is designed to assist airflow through the cabin, helping provide ventilation within the enclosed sleeping compartment.

Ventilation is an important consideration in dog accommodation, particularly where cabins are used regularly or positioned within enclosed kennel environments.

The louvred design provides a practical ventilation opening, while the stainless-steel construction offers durability and corrosion resistance.

The ventilation grille works alongside the internal draught screen to provide a balance between shelter and airflow within the sleeping area.

Appropriate ventilation and temperature management remain important when selecting and positioning any indoor or outdoor dog kennel.

Removable Roof for Easy Cleaning & Maintenance

The CAB Dog Cabin incorporates a removable roof secured by two over-centre fasteners.

These fasteners hold the roof in position during normal use while allowing it to be released when access to the cabin interior is required.

Once the fasteners have been released, the roof can be lifted away to provide access to the internal sleeping area.

This makes it easier to clean the inside of the cabin, remove accumulated dirt and inspect the sleeping compartment without having to work entirely through the entrance opening.

The roof is also finished with protective aluminium capping, helping protect the exposed edges from chewing damage.

The removable design is particularly useful in working dog kennels and other environments where regular cleaning and maintenance are an important part of everyday dog care.

Hygienic, Rot-Proof & Easy-to-Clean Construction

One of the main advantages of the CAB Dog Cabin is its practical, low-maintenance construction.

The non-porous polypropylene material does not absorb moisture, helping prevent water and other liquids from penetrating the structure of the cabin.

This makes the surfaces easier to wash and disinfect than absorbent materials such as untreated wood.

The fully welded internal joints further support routine cleaning, while the removable roof provides convenient access to the sleeping compartment.

Because polypropylene will not rot, the cabin is particularly suitable for environments where dogs may regularly return wet or muddy after working, training or exercise.

These features make the CAB Dog Cabin a practical choice for customers who want durable sleeping accommodation without the ongoing maintenance associated with traditional wooden dog kennels.

As with any dog accommodation, regular cleaning, disinfection and appropriate ventilation remain essential.

Bespoke CAB Dog Cabins

As we manufacture our CAB Dog Cabins, we can also produce them in alternative sizes to suit individual requirements.

Different dogs and kennel layouts can require different sleeping arrangements, and the standard cabin dimensions may not always provide the most suitable solution.

Whether you require a larger dog cabin, a smaller cabin to fit an existing kennel compartment or a particular width, depth or height, we can discuss the most suitable configuration.

Bespoke manufacturing is particularly useful for customers fitting out working dog kennels, replacing existing sleeping accommodation or requiring cabins manufactured to fit within a specific building or kennel run.

If our standard CAB Dog Cabin dimensions are not suitable, please contact us with your required width, depth and height, together with your preferred roof design, so that we can discuss your requirements and provide a quotation.
